Sell your business premises
Retiring, relocating or closing a business? If you own the building it occupies, tell us about the premises and when you expect to leave.
We introduce commercial property owners to potential buyers.
The building and the business
This service concerns selling the property. Explain whether you want to sell the land and buildings alone or are also considering a transfer of the business.
Business sales, finance and sale-and-leaseback need separate advice; they are not offered here. If you want to stay in the premises after a sale, raise that at the outset.
Your move date
Tell us whether a move is arranged, still being considered or dependent on the sale. Explain if parts of the building could be vacated at different times.
Your preferred move date is not a promised completion date. Any agreement about continued occupation or handing over the building needs to be agreed with the buyer and checked by your solicitor.
What will stay with the property?
- The land, buildings, parking and other space included.
- Fixtures or machinery you intend to include or remove.
- Any part used by another business.
- Known building issues and how viewings could fit around operations.
Start with the postcode and property type, then your contact details. We can discuss the rest when we respond. Do not send accounts, identity documents or confidential business records with the first enquiry.
Preparing for a sale
Available title information, plans and an EPC can help. In England, an EPC is generally needed for a commercial sale, subject to exemptions. See the official guidance or ask an accredited assessor.
We’ll discuss the premises and your timing, then whether we can introduce potential buyers. Any work, fees and permission to share details are agreed before proceeding.
Common questions
Can I enquire while the business is still trading?
Yes. Tell us how the premises are used and your plans. An enquiry does not authorise viewings or contact with employees or other occupiers.
What if I have not decided to move?
You can enquire while considering your options. Doing so does not commit you to a sale.
Do you sell the business too?
No. This service concerns the property. A business transfer needs separate advice.
